What are some short stories about decision making?

I'm looking for a short story or poem that deals with decision making. Like sometimes it takes experiencing something before realizing whats right and wrong, and what the right decision for you is. I tried looking through movies, but I wanted to find a short story or poem more. Thanks. I'll vote.
